How to Open Account with SEB Bank?

To open any type of a bank account you should visit any SEB Bank branch. Presence of the authorised person is required. You will be required to provide documents established by acts of law of the Republic of Lithuania.

Account for a legal person registered in Lithuania

The below documents are required:

  • original or notarised copy of the detailed extract from the Register of Legal Entities or an access code to the database of the State Company Centre of Registers for obtaining an electronic certified extract of a legal entity;
  • original or notarised copies of incorporation documents (articles of association, regulations, etc.);
  • joint activity agreement or its notarised copy, if the legal person is a general or a limited partnership;
  • original or notarised copy of a farmer’s registration certificate, if an account is opened for the farmer;
  • original or notarised copy of a decision of a legal person’s managing body in confirmation of the appointment or election of the chief executive and his/her right to dispose of the account, if such right is not established in the incorporation documents;
  • power of attorney (notarised if a legal person is not a client of SEB Bank) approved by the legal person’s chief executive or any other managing body for signing a bank account agreement, if the agreement is signed by a person authorised by the legal entity;
  • original or notarised copy of a VAT payer’s registration certificate from the regional state tax inspectorate (if the company is a VAT payer);
  • document proving identity of the authorised person signing the bank account agreement;
  • company seal, if such is used;
  • signature and seal sample card;
  • request to open a bank account (filled out at the bank);
  • pdf legal person’s application form (PDF, 473 KB)*;
  • if the actual owner (beneficiary) of the account funds is another person, a
    pdf form of the actual owner (beneficiary) of the account funds (PDF, 475 KB)* (filled out at the bank).

All document copies must be notarised.

Account for a legal person registered outside Lithuania

The following documents are required:

  • original or notarised copy of the registration certificate;
  • original or notarised copies of incorporation documents (articles of association, regulations, etc);
  • notarised copy of a decision of a legal person’s managing body in confirmation of the appointment or election of the chief executive and his/her right to dispose of the account, if such right is not established in the incorporation documents;
  • power of attorney approved by the legal person’s chief executive or any other managing body for signing a bank account agreement, if the agreement is signed by a person authorised by the legal entity;
  • document proving identity of the authorised person;
  • company seal, if such is used;
  • signature and seal sample card;
  • request to open a bank account (filled out at the bank);
  • pdf legal person’s application form (PDF, 473 KB)*;
  • if the actual owner (beneficiary) of the account funds is another person, a
    pdf form of the actual owner (beneficiary) of the account funds (PDF, 475 KB)* (filled out at the bank).

All the above-listed documents must be translated into the Lithuanian language, and the translator’s signature must be confirmed by a notary public of the Republic of Lithuania. Also, the documents must be legalised pursuant to the procedure established by acts of law of the Republic of Lithuania.

A legal person that is registered outside Lithuania may provide copies of documents approved by correspondent banks which have entered into cooperation agreements with SEB Bank.

If a legal person is registered outside of the Republic of Lithuania, documents provided to such legal person’s bank (legal person’s registration certificate, articles of association, regulations, statute, etc.) may be issued / approved by a competent state institution no earlier than 3 months prior to the legal person’s request to the bank to open an account.
