Memo for Cardholders
How to check the balance of the card account?
The balance of the card account may be checked in six ways (click the image for details):
Do I need to have a personal identification document when using the card?
Usually not. However, you may be requested to present a personal identification document, if you pay a larger amount or if you want to withdraw cash at the bank’s branch or a post office.
What should I do, if the card has become unreadable?
The card may be damaged by exposure to magnetic fields, i.e. if it is kept close to a mobile phone, computer, TV-set or any other magnetized items. If your payment card has become unreadable, please submit your application on a new card issuance at the nearest SEB Bank’s branch office – a new card will be produced.
What should I do, if I do not agree with the amount debited to the card account?
Please contact the nearest branch office of SEB Bank and file a written claim regarding the incorrectly debited amount. You may attach payment documents such as a cash receipt, cheque, invoice, etc. to your claim.
The claim must be filed within 20 days (and until the 20th day of the next month) after the delivery of the card account statement with indicated allegedly incorrect amount debited to your account.
Duration of an investigation of a claim depends on where the particular transaction was carried out – in Lithuania or abroad. If the claim is confirmed, you will be compensated for the losses incurred. If the claim is not confirmed, you will have to pay a fixed fee for the investigation of the claim.
What should I do, if the validity of the card has expired?
The card validity date (month and year) is indicated on the card. Two weeks before the indicated date, SEB Bank automatically starts the process of the card renewal. A new payment card of the same brand will be produced (PIN code will remain unchanged). At the end of the month indicated on your card, you should appear at the branch office of SEB Bank which issued your previous card and collect your new card. If you do not want to extend the validity of the card, please submit a relevant application at the branch office of SEB Bank.
Upon expiry of the card, please see to it that you have a sufficient amount in the card account to pay for its renewal. The card renewal fee is debited to the renewed card account, and when renewing a credit card – from the credit. If the balance of the account is insufficient, the card is not renewed, but the contract is still valid, and the funds are further kept in the card account.
The card SEB ISIC MasterCard is not automatically renewed. The validity of the card may be extended at any branch office of SEB Bank. You will be requested to present your old card, a personal identity document and a valid student ID card.
What is important to know about the PIN code?
1. Only the cardholder may know the PIN code of the card. Even the bank employees do not know the PIN code of your card. You must not disclose your PIN code either to your close family members or to sellers, or bank employees – never ever and to anybody!2. If you have forgotten your card PIN code, contact any branch office of SEB Bank where you will be issued a new PIN code.
3. Be careful when entering the PIN code: when entering the PIN at an ATM, you can make a mistake three times, and four times, when paying by a chip payment card in stores. Afterwards the card is blocked. You can unblock the card at any branch office of SEB Bank or by telephone at 1528.
What should I do, if an ATM does not return the card or does not dispense money?
This is a very uncommon situation, and there may be only two reasons: if you use the ATM too slowly, or due to any failure of the ATM (especially uncommon). The most important thing is to immediately contact the bank to which the particular ATM belongs, and you will easily recover your card and money.
If at an ATM you perform any action that takes more than 30 seconds, the ATM automatically suspends the operation: the card is kept inside and the money that has appeared in the slot is taken back. This is in protection of the money of the bank customers.
ATMs are very expensive and highly reliable machines, and their breakdown is a rarity. Should this happen, however, please contact the bank. In case of SEB Bank ATMs, please contact the nearest branch office of SEB Bank or call at: 1528.
How much money can be withdrawn at an ATM?
Daily maximum amount that can be withdrawn at SEB Bank’s ATMs is LTL 7,000, maximum single withdrawal being LTL 2,000.
What one should know about cards issued to corporate customers?
1. Cards are issued to senior management or persons authorised by them.
2. Cards issued by SEB Bank to corporate customers are accepted all over the world.
3. Upon payment by card, an invoice is printed out or written in the currency of the country in which the payment is made.
4. If one has to pay in currencies other than the Euro, the currency is automatically converted according to the currency exchange rate set by MasterCard International or Visa Inc., which is usually more favourable than cash exchange rates at banks.
5. Various payment limits may be established.
