Does the bank pay insurance compensations to companies within Vilnius County that have held their funds with Bank Snoras?

Yes, on 14 December 2011, SEB Bank started paying insurance compensation for the insured deposits to companies within Vilnius County that had held their fund with Bank Snoras.

State enterprise Indėlių ir Investicijų Draudimas has transferred funds to SEB Bank for payment of the insured deposits and has provided SEB Bank with a list of Bank Snoras depositors, according to which SEB Bank pays relevant funds to companies within Vilnius County, when the companies turn to SEB Bank regarding payment of the insurance compensation.

According to the Law on Insurance of Deposits and Obligations against Investors, insurance compensations to depositors of a policy holder that is in bankruptcy (in this particular case, Bank Snoras) are paid from the funds of the Deposits Insurance Fund administered by the insurance company.

What is the period within which a company must turn to SEB Bank regarding payment of its insurance compensation?

According to the Law on Insurance of Deposits and Obligations against Investors, the depositor’s right to be paid the insurance compensation is valid for a 5-year period since the day of the insurance event.

In what way can a company find out the bank at which it may be paid its insurance compensation?

A company may find out the bank at which it may be paid its calculated insurance compensation upon filling out a search form at state enterprise Indėlių ir Investicijų Draudimas’ website www.iidraudimas.lt – according to the company’s identity number and name.

What is the procedure of SEB Bank for payment of the insurance compensations to companies within Vilnius County?

Starting from 14 December 2012, companies within Vilnius County willing that their insurance compensations would be transferred to their accounts with SEB Bank or with any other bank operating in Lithuania have to submit their requests in the format set by SEB Bank. This must be done by the head of a company or a person authorised by him/her (if the company is not a customer of SEB Bank, the authorisation must be notarised; if the company is a customer of SEB Bank, notarisation of the authorisation is not required).

Companies willing that their insurance compensation is paid in cash, are not required to submit any requests at a branch of SEB Bank.

In what way can a company be paid its insurance compensation at SEB Bank?

SEB Bank pays insurance compensation to companies within Vilnius County. As regards insurance compensation, SEB Bank may be approached only by the head of a company or by a person authorised by the head of the company (if the company is not a customer of SEB Bank, the authorisation must be notarised; if the company is a customer of SEB Bank, notarisation of the authorisation is not required).

If your company is a customer of SEB Bank:

  • If your company is a customer of SEB Bank and is willing that the insurance compensation would be transferred to the company’s account with SEB Bank or with any other bank operating in Lithuania, you have to visit your nearest branch of SEB Bank and submit your request in a form established by SEB Bank.
  • Companies willing to be paid in cash must visit any branch of SEB Bank.

If your company is not a customer of SEB Bank:

  • If your company is not a customer of SEB Bank, however, you would like to have an account opened with SEB Bank for funds transfer to such an account, visit any sub-branch of SEB Bank.
  • If your company is not a customer of SEB Bank and is willing that funds would be transferred to your company’s account with any other bank operating in Lithuania, you have to visit any sub-branch of SEB Bank.
  • Companies willing to be paid in cash must visit any sub-branch of SEB Bank.

In what way are insurance compensations paid to companies at SEB Bank?

Commission within Vilnius County may select one of the following ways for payment of an insurance compensation:

  • funds transfer to the indicated account of the company with SEB Bank;
  • funds transfer to the indicated account of the company with any other bank operating in Lithuania;
  • payment of funds in cash at a sub-branch of SEB Bank.

What documents must a company submit at a sub-branch of SEB Bank?

When visiting the nearest sub-branch of SEB Bank, the head of a company or a person authorised by him/her must provide the bank employees with following:

  • extended extract from the register of legal entities issued or approved no more than 3 months before the day of submitting the request (if the company is a customer of SEB Bank);
  • one’s personal identity document – passport, personal identity card or driver’s license issued no earlier than in 2003;
  • notarised authorisation issued by the head of a legal entity, if the applicant is other than the head of the legal entity.

Also, it is necessary to have the company seal.

Are insurance compensations paid in cash at each sub-branch of SEB Bank?

Yes, insurance compensations are paid in cash at any sub-branch of SEB Bank.

In what way can a company be paid its insurance compensation in cash?

According to the Law on Insurance of Deposits and Obligations against Investors, a depositor’s right to be paid the insurance compensation is valid for a 5-year period since the day of occurrence of the insurance event.

In order that the insurance compensation is paid in cash, the head of the company or a person authorised by him/her must visit a sub-branch of SEB Bank.

What documents must be submitted by a representative of a company which is registered abroad in order that the insurance compensation is paid to the company represented by him/her?

If a company registered abroad is a customer of SEB Bank or is willing to become a customers of SEB Bank, as regards payment of the insurance compensation it may turn to any sub-branch of SEB Bank.

If a foreign registered company is not a customer of SEB Bank, regarding payment of insurance compensation it must contact SEB Bank by phone number 19222 (for corporate customers) and register for a meeting at a branch of SEB Bank.

Regarding the insurance compensation, SEB Bank must be approached by the head of a company registered abroad or by his/her authorised person.

If a company is not a customer of SEB Bank, it is necessary to have the following documents:

  • an extract from the register of legal entities or from a commercial register evidencing the registration of a legal person issued / approved no more than 3 months prior to the day on which the compensation beneficiary turns to the bank;
  • a document indicating which person has the right to dispose of the legal person’s assets (issued / approved no more than 3 months prior to the day on which the compensation beneficiary turns to the bank), if such person is not indicated in the extract referred to in above paragraph of the present clause;
  • a personal ID document, if the bank is approached by the head of the legal person;
  • a personal ID document and a notarised authorisation of the legal person, if the bank is approached by other than the head of the legal person.

If a company is a customer of SEB Bank, it is necessary to have the following documents:

  • a personal ID document, if the bank is approached by the head of the legal person;
  • a personal ID document and a notarised authorisation of the legal person, if the bank is approached by other than a representative of the legal person.

Original copies of documents issued in a foreign state or their notarised copies must be translated into the Lithuanian language, and the translator’s signature must be approved by a notary public of the Republic of Lithuania. The documents must also be apostiled or legalised:

  • apostiled are documents issued and approved in the states which have acceded the Hague Convention 1961 (the list is available at: http://www.urm.lt/index.php?1504471964);
  • documents issued in Belarus, Moldova, Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine need not be legalised and apostiled;
  • documents issued in states other than the above-mentioned ones must be legalised (the document must contain a legalisation record).

 


 

If a company has not submitted its request to SEB Bank for funds transfer to a bank account, must it submit it?

Starting from December 14th, companies willing that their insurance compensations are transferred to their accounts with SEB Bank or with any other banks operating in Lithuania will have to continue submitting their requests at sub-branches of SEB Bank in the form established by SEB Bank.

 

Companies willing that funds are paid to them in cash, do not have to submit their requests at a sub-branch of SEB Bank.

When will a company receive its insurance compensation, if at a sub-branch of SEB Bank it has indicated to transfer funds to the company’s account?

  • If your company has indicated to transfer the insurance compensation to the company’s account with SEB Bank, funds to the account with SEB Bank will be credited immediately;
  • If your company has indicated to transfer the insurance compensation to an account with any other bank operating in Lithuania and did so before 2.30 p.m., funds will be credited to the account on the same day;
  • If your company has indicated to transfer the insurance compensation to an account with any other bank operating in Lithuania and did so after 2.30 p.m., funds will be credited to the account on the following day.

Must a company submit a request, if it is willing to get its insurance compensation in cash?

No, no request is required. The head of the company or a person authorised by him/her must visit the nearest sub-branch of SEB Bank.

What should be done, if a company has not received the insurance compensation, though it has submitted its request to SEB Bank?

SEB Bank pays insurance compensations according to the lists of Snoras’ depositors provided by Indėlių ir Investicijų Draudimas to SEB Bank as well as the data, including the amount.

If your company has not received its insurance compensation, it may be that:

  • the compensation to your company must be paid by any other bank (not by SEB Bank) – the company may find out at which bank it may get the compensation calculated for it having filled out a search form at the website of state enterprise Indėlių ir Investicijų Draudimas www.iidraudimas.lt – according to the company ID number;
  • the company is not included in the list of AB Bank Snoras depositor provided to SEB Bank;
  • the request the company has submitted to SEB Bank contains errors – in this case you will get SEB Bank’s relevant notification;
  • the country may have an agreement executed with Snoro Lizingas UAB – in this case wait for additional information, which will soon be announced at the website of AB Bank Snoras;
  • the company’s accounts were put under attachment by bailiffs, by the State Tax Agency, Sodra or any other institutions – in this case, wait for additional information, which will soon be announced at the website of AB Bank Snoras.

What will be the amount of the insurance compensation that SEB Bank will pay to a company?

SEB Bank pays insurance compensations according to the list of Bank Snoras’ depositors and data, including amounts, provided by Indėlių ir Investicijų Draudimas.

SEB Bank does not and will not provide by phone or by e-mail any advance information to the depositors of Snoras on the amounts of insurance compensations calculated for them, as this requires proper identification of a company or its authorised representative – this can be done by employees of SEB Bank only at a sub-branch of SEB Bank after a person provides his/her personal identity document and the required documents of the company.

Commission will be able to find out the amount of the insurance compensation:

  • when the bank employee, having duly identified a company or its authorised person, executes a cash disbursement or a money transfer transaction at a sub-branch of SEB Bank;
  • when the insurance compensation, according to the already submitted request of the company, is transferred to the indicated bank account of the company.

Will SEB Bank transfer to an account or disburse the entire amount of the insurance compensation as a one-off payment?

Yes, SEB Bank will pay to companies the entire insurance compensation as a one-off payment either in cash at a sub-branch of SEB Bank or by money transfer to the company’s indicated bank account.

Can a company be paid its insurance compensation in parts, for instance, can it withdraw a part of the amount in cash, and transfer the remaining part to a bank account or withdraw it in cash later?

No, there is no such possibility. SEB Bank pays to companies their entire insurance compensation as a one-off payment. Companies may select one of the following ways for payment of the insurance compensation:

     
  • funds transfer to the indicated account of the company with SEB Bank;
  • funds transfer to the indicated account of the company with any other bank operating in Lithuania;
  • payment of funds in cash at a sub-branch of SEB Bank.

Does SEB Bank charge any fee on the insurance compensation paid at SEB Bank?

SEB Bank pays insurance compensations to private individuals and companies free of charge in one of the ways selected by them and indicated in the request – either transfers funds, free of charge, to a private individual’s or a company’s account with SEB Bank indicated in the request or transfers them, free of charge, to a private individual’s or a company’s account with any other bank operating in Lithuania, or disburses the funds, free of charge, to a private individual or a company in cash at a sub-branch of SEB Bank.

Why can a company get its insurance compensation only to an account with a bank operating in Lithuania?

The requirement that insurance compensations must be transferred only to accounts with banks operating in Lithuania is provided for in an agreement between state enterprise Indėlių ir Investicijų Draudimas and SEB Bank, therefore, there is no possibility for companies to get their compensation to an account with a bank operating outside Lithuania.
