Example of calculating the annual percentage rate of charge

If you are issued an EUR 2,900.00 credit in your credit card account at 48 months’ maturity, the total amount payable by the consumer would be EUR 4,909.84.

The amount has been calculated including interest (the calculation has been made using a 14 per cent fixed interest rate) paid over the credit period, card issuance and card usage fee.

In this case, the annual percentage rate of charge is 18.97 per cent.

The annual percentage rate of charge and the total amount payable by the consumer have been calculated assuming that the credit agreement will be effective throughout its agreed period, the bank and the customer will be fulfilling their obligations under the credit agreement at agreed terms, the interest rate and other fees will remain the same as they were at the time of concluding the credit agreement and will be applied further until expiry of the credit agreement, the bank disburses the entire credit amount to the customer on the day of concluding the credit agreement, and this amount is not repaid before expiry of the credit limit draw-down period.
