Everyone has opportunities to take steps necessary to ensure a happy and comfortable life when he/she reaches the age of retirement. One of such opportunities is a voluntary build-up of pension savings under a unit-linked insurance agreement “Secure Retirement”:

  • by paying  premiums  at intervals and in the amounts selected  by you, you will accumulate savings to be invested according to the investment strategy acceptable to you
  • if your investments are successful, you will earn a return
  • select the accident insurance
  • all information will be available to you on SEB’s Internet Bank

1. You may accumulate savings at the selected intervals for your future goals.

Amount of the insurance premium depends on your savings goals and expectations, the selected period of accumulation. You may start accumulating savings by paying the lowest possible periodic premium – EUR 20 per month). If you have some funds available, you will be able to pay more and increase the amount to be accumulated, or suspend payment of premiums.

Your savings after deduction of the premium fee will be invested according to the selected investment plan. The agreement administration and the risk fees will be deducted from your savings under the agreement, if the additional insurance cover is selected.

2. You will ensure an opportunity to accumulate the required amount in the event of an accident.

If you select the accident insurance, in the event of an accident you will be paid out the insurance benefit, and  you will be able to continue your savings for retirement. You may select the insurance cover and its amount irrespective of the amount you plan to accumulate when you reach your retirement age.

3. We will assist you in selecting the premium investment plan.

Some people are willing to take risk, others are much more cautious. We propose a number of investment plans with different levels of risk, therefore clients willing to take risk and aiming for higher return and also much more cautious clients agreeing with lower return and aiming to prevent drop in value of their investment will be able to select an acceptable investment plan.

You may register for a free of charge consultation and our Client Executive will provide advice on the investment risk acceptable to you and will assist you in selecting a suitable investment plan.  You will have an opportunity to change the select investment plan  on SEB’s Internet Bank free of charge within the entire effective period of the agreement, if necessary.

You will be eligible for a personal income tax relief and a refund of up to 15% of the total insurance premiums paid within a year. At the end of the period, the benefit will be tax-free if your agreement has been effective for 5 years and you have reached the minimum retirement age. In other cases the accumulated funds will be subject to 15 per cent income tax and will be paid out after expiry of the agreement or upon the agreement termination.

Personal income tax relief will be applied to the total amount of premiums not exceeding 25 per cent of taxable annual income. The tax relief will be applied, if at maturity of the insurance period the beneficiary of funds is:

  • premium payer
  • his/her spouse
  • child under 18 years of age

Information is submitted and conclusions are made in accordance with the acts of law of the Republic of Lithuania regulating taxation of the insurance agreements and based on the related explanations and comments issued by the government institutions. Attention should be paid to the fact that the regulatory framework and related comments may be amended and such changes may determine taxation under already signed insurance agreements.

Savings built up under the unit-linked insurance plan may be inherited.

If disaster strikes, your savings will be paid out to your heirs or persons specified in your agreement (beneficiaries).

1 Calculated on the assumption that the net return on investment is 5%, premium fee is 3.5%, monthly service fee is EUR 2.03 / LTL 7.00 and 0.05% of savings, tax relief was used in full. It is also assumed that no additional insurance cover is selected. If an insurance cover is selected, risk fees would apply to the contract depending on the age and health of the insured person.

2 If the beneficiary has reached the minimum retirement age at the time of expiry of the insurance contract, the amount is paid out free of any charges and the recipient of the benefit is paid out the entire amount of savings.

An individual price list (version E3) applies to an insurance contract. An individual price list is applicable to a client depending on the number of his or her insurance contract, amount of insurance premium and amounts of insurance cover. It is also assumed that no additional insurance cover is selected. If an insurance cover is selected, risk fees would apply depending on the age and health of the insured person.

The amount of your savings under the insurance agreement depends on:

  • duration of the agreement
  • premiums paid and invested
  • success of investments

Insurance benefits will be transferred to the bank account of the recipient ¬ the insured, other beneficiaries specified in the agreement or, if not specified – to the bank account heirs.

When is the insurance benefit paid out?

After expiry of the insurance period

At the end of the period, the beneficiary is paid out savings built up under the unit-linked life insurance agreement.

After expiry of your insurance agreement, you will be request to provide the following at any unit of AB SEB bankas:

  • identity document (passport of the citizen of the Republic of Lithuania or personal identity card)
  • application for transfer of the insurance benefit to the specified bank account (to be completed at  AB SEB bankas’ unit)

In the event of death of the insured

If the insured person passes away, the beneficiaries specified in the agreement (if no beneficiaries are specified – heirs) will be paid out the higher of the following insurance benefits:

  • amount of life insurance specified in the agreement
  • savings built up under the unit-linked life insurance plan

Occurrence of an insured event if additional insurance cover is selected

If an insured event specified in the additional insurance rules occurs, the amount specified in the injury or accident insurance tables will be paid out. This insurance benefit is tax-free.

Death of the insured due to a non-insured event

In cases of a non-insured event, savings built up under the insurance agreement will be paid out. Non-insured events:

  • suicide of the insured within the first three years of insurance
  • death of the insured related to a war, emergency, mass unrest, nuclear exposure, etc.
  • death of the insured related to his or her criminal acts
  • death of the insured during suspension of insurance
  • death of the insured younger than one year

Occurrence of a non-insured event

In this case, no insurance benefit is paid out under the additional insurance rules.

Premature agreement termination

In this case, the surrender value will be paid out to the policyholder. The surrender value is calculated by deducting the agreement termination fee from the amount of savings. The agreement  termination fees are specified in the insurance agreement Price List.

If you are willing to terminate your insurance agreement, you will be required to provide:

  • an identity document (passport of the citizen of the Republic of Lithuania or personal identity card)
  • application for transfer of the insurance benefit to the specified bank account (to be filled out at AB SEB bankas’ unit)
