Cross border money transfer

Cross border money transfer

You can transfer funds to any country of the world

You can transfer funds in the required foreign currency to another account opened with a bank that operates abroad. International transfers are available online or at a bank unit of your choice.

To choose the best way to transfer your money cross-border, consider the destination country, the currency and how fast you need your funds transferred.

This method is used to transfer funds in different currencies to just about all countries of the world. The transfer is performed via correspondent accounts opened with correspondent banks, therefore you have to specify the details of your selected correspondent bank as well as the remittee’s account number in the international IBAN format and the bank’s BIC code.

Main features:

  • You can transfer convertible and non-convertible currency
  • Money is transferred to many banks worldwide
  • The money transfer can be urgent and extra urgent (the duration depends on the currency, the location of the remittee's bank and the time of filing the order)
  • The cost of transfer can be covered by any party

If money is transferred to you from an account opened with another bank operating abroad, it will be credited to your account on the same day it reaches the SEB Bank.

If funds are transferred:

  • To the bank account the debit card is linked with, they will be credited in the currency they are received in
  • To a credit card account, they will be credited in the currency of the credit card account (if the account currency is different from the transferred currency, the transferred currency is automatically exchanged at the valid exchange rate of the SEB Bank)

What should you specify to the remitter for money to be credited to your account?

If you are expecting money to your account with the SEB Bank from abroad, you are required to specify to the remitter:

  • The number of your account with the SEB Bank in the international IBAN format (the funds are credited to the account based on that number)
  • Your first name and surname
  • Your residential address
  • Bank name (AB SEB Bank) and SWIFT code (CBVI LT 2X)
  • Exact name and SWIFT code of the nostro correspondent bank abroad

Choose a correspondent bank according to the transferred currency, country and terms of transfer.

Please note that when we credit money to the account we check the account number but we don’t check other details.
