Vilija Nausėdaitė and Eglė Dovbyšienė have been appointed as members of the Managamenet Board of SEB Bank in Lithuania

After receiving the approval of the European Central Bank, the Supervisory Council has appointed Vilija Nausėdaitė and Eglė Dovbyšienė as members of the Management Board of SEB Bank in Lithuania as of 1 February, 2022. V. Nausėdaitė has been the Head of the bank’s Monitoring and Security Division since January, E. Dovbyšienė has been the Head of the bank’s Retail Banking Division since September.

“Both Vilija and Eglė are experienced professionals of the financial services industry, therefore their knowledge and competence will strengthen our Management Board team. Vilija has held managerial positions within the financial sector for more than ten years, she is well familiar with the financial sector, regulatory framework and legal requirements, has clear understanding of credit institutions’ business strategy, risk management, effective governance of the financial institution. I am confident that she will contribute significantly to the management of the bank with her legal and regulatory knowledge and risk management attitude. Eglė has been working in the banking field for 21 years, more than half of this term in retail banking, so her experience of working with private and corporate clients has been gained during both time of business growth and more difficult time when the support for clients was needed. Therefore I believe that her professional skills, knowledge and competence will help to maintain our customer focus long-term”, says Sonata Gutauskaitė-Bubnelienė, CEO of SEB bank in Lithuania.

V. Nausėdaitė was leading the Lithuanian securities market regulator, which at the time was a specialised regulatory authority responsible for the supervision of the securities market within the Republic of Lithuania. She started as a junior lawyer in 2001 and consequently reached the top position as the Chairwoman. In 2010 she joined SEB Lithuania and subsequently has been head of both the compliance and the legal functions. Vilija Nausėdaitė is not related to the President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda: the President has a sister named Vilija, but that’s just a coincidence.

E. Dovbyšienė has been working at SEB since 2000. Prior to the becoming a member of the Management Board of the bank, she was leading the bank’s Eastern Region and Vilnius Financial Services Center at Retail Bankin Division, earlier was leading International Companies and Financial Institutions Unit at Corporate Division. She is a member of the Management Board of non-profit organisation Lithuanian Junior Achievement. She has studied management and business administration in Vilnius University.

In total, the Management Board of SEB Bank in Lithuania consists of six members, half of whom are women.
